Temporary exhibitions

The Museum’s temporary exhibitions focus on a succession of different themes. Specific aspects of the house, the Plantin-Moretus family, the output of the Officina Plantiniana... you can learn more about each of these subjects.

The Plantin-Moretus archive

The Plantin-Moretus archive contains documents from 1550 until 1865. It is a paper treasure trove and consists of 1,382 ledgers, 990 sheafs, 187 folio volumes and more than 1,385 parchments.

Christophe Plantin was an intellectual with a flair for business. Shortly before 1550 he moved from France to Antwerp. Five years later he started his own printing press, which he built into the largest in the world.
