Christophe Plantin was born around 500 years ago. He became the most important printer-publisher of his time.
The Plantin-Moretus Museum will be celebrating this remarkable man with a festive 2020 year.

A century of wonder. Knowledge in the 16th century
Exhibition 9.10.2020 – 21.02.2021
In autumn the museum will be presenting the splendour of the 16th century, a time of innovation and wonder. Stradanus (1523-1605) attempted to capture the zeitgeist in the print series Nova Reperta (New Descoveries). This series forms the backbone of an exhibition on the sciences in the 16th century.

In the spring and summer of 2021, we will be going on a journey. Plantin travelled a lot, but never for his own leisure. It was always business first. We will head off on business trips to Leiden, Paris and Frankfurt.
