Typography & Book Design
Fourteen students who followed the Typography & Book Design Program over the past year are presenting their original book concepts here.
For these graduation projects, the students were free to choose their own subject or theme. However, they were required to seek out interesting collaborations with someone from a different background (graphic designers, artists, curators, editors, art institutions, etc.).
Together with this external partner, they explored which form of publishing would be the most suitable, relevant, or challenging for their topic. These final projects offered the students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired over the past year.
Type design
Our type designers are presenting 17 new typefaces, created based on typographic heritage and historical prints preserved in the museum. Punchcutters from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Modern periods were closely studied. In the exhibition the students’ research is illustrated with photographs, accompanied by the original source materials displayed in show cases.
