Leading Ladies Tour

Ludovico Guicciardini already wrote in 1567 that Flanders was rich in enterprising women. The fact that Plantin’s family business survived for three hundred years was partly thanks to a number of strong, emancipated women.

Leading Ladies Tour

Guided tour for adults

Martina Plantijn (1550–1616), Anna Goos (1627–1691), Anna-Maria de Neuf (1654–1714) and Maria Theresia Borrekens (1728–1797) led the enterprise for a long time and thus helped ensure its continuity.

Step into the world of the hardworking, headstrong and enterprising Moretus women. View the museum through their eyes and get to know the Plantin-Moretus family and the Officina Plantiniana in a different way.
